The Client 

Unihalls, a leading student accommodation residency in Cyprus, aimed to leverage the festive season to connect more meaningfully with their audience. The goal of this Christmas campaign was to foster a sense of community among students and increase engagement on social media during a time when students are often away from campus. By focusing on fun, relatable, and festive content, Unihalls sought to position itself as a hub for vibrant student life, with a vested interest in its residents. 

Unihalls Christmas Campaign 2024

The Project 

The objective of the Christmas campaign was to increase engagement across Unihalls’ social media platforms. With students heading home or staying on campus for the holidays, the goal was to create a campaign that would entertain, inspire and resonate with their lifestyles during the festive season. By incorporating interactive elements like giveaways and relatable, engaging content, the campaign aimed to not only capture attention but also encourage participation among students. 

The ultimate aim was to reinforce Unihalls’ connection to its community and to strengthen brand loyalty during a period when students were more likely to engage with online content. This digital-first strategy aligned with the brand’s ongoing efforts to foster connections through social media while promoting Unihalls as a lively, student-centric brand.

The Execution

The campaign was brought to life through a unified Instagram grid feed, with the centerpiece being four weekly competition giveaways throughout December. Each giveaway featured enticing prizes, building anticipation and excitement, and culminated in a grand prize: a return trip to Athens.

This structured approach ensured ongoing engagement over the course of the month, encouraging followers to stay tuned for new announcements and actively participate. To complement the competitions, the campaign leaned into a fun and festive visual direction, using vibrant Christmas-themed elements that were both eye-catching and reflective of the Unihalls brand. This consistent and recognisable aesthetic tied everything together. 

Fun posts such as “Ultimate Christmas Checklist” tailored for students, interactive battles like “Christmas Movies” and “Snack Wars” and survival guides designed to help students make the most of the holidays were also included to further tap into the shared experience of the holidays and encourage engagement. 

Additionally, the campaign featured short-form videos focusing on evergreen topics and holiday themes. These videos provided relatable, bite-sized content that showcased Unihalls’ understanding of student life while incorporating a festive twist.
