The Project
In March 2017, Opium Works undertook the task to create a distinctive aesthetic for Beauty Bar - a thoughtfully-curated community for women. Creating Beauty Bar’s brand identity proved to be the biggest challenge, along with understanding the target audience.
The Approach
A contemporary and edgy identity was required for Beauty Bar to differentiate itself from local competition and attract a discerning audience. After all, their slogan says, Be your own kind of beautiful.
Opium Works has helped Beauty Bar transform their digital marketing and branded-content presence online through social media, campaigns, education content and site. Rather than the standardized beauty images, we opted for a certain rebelliousness against the confines. Taking into consideration the multitude of brands in the market, we launched Like Beauty - a campaign targeting the brand’s Facebook Page likes.
The Solution
With a need to showcase promotional product posts and beauty tips, we created special templates prior to the launch of each campaign. We also implemented a “trilogy” method, that injected the Instagram account with an editorial-like presence that evoked something sleek and glossy. Opium Works retained a systematic approach to typography, layout and design, enabling brand synergy across all social media channels. As a result, our team managed to bring at the forefront cult and extraordinary beauty.
